Volunteer Training Begins on September 18, 2007
Hospice of Southern West Virginia will begin a volunteer training class at The Bowers Hospice House on Tuesday, September 18, 2007. The class will be held at the Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive in Beckley. The class will be from 6:00pm - 8:30pm and light refreshments will be served.
Hospice has volunteer positions open for caregiver relief, general errands, clerical, fundraising events and professional healthcare porviders. PLUS, the recent opening of our new Hospice House has created many new and exciting volunteer opportunities. October 6th is a "Chili Night" in Uptown Beckley
Join us for some special Hospice chili made with love at this year's annual Chili Night event in Uptown Beckley. The addition of the Bowers Hospice House staff will create even yummier chili as our staff from the field and the house join together to offer up the best chili in southern West Virginia.
Tours available at the Doug and Lucy Bowers Hospice House
Tours are available by appointment at our new Bowers Hospice House. The Bowers House opened in November, 2006. This state of the art 12 bed inpatient facility is a much needed addition to end-of-life care in southern West Virginia. The third hospice house to open in West Virginia, the Bowers House is located at 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley. We are able to serve all of Fayette, Raleigh, Summers and Wyoming Counties as well as other residents of West Virginia who made need our services. November is Hospice Month
