Welcome to Hospice of Southen WV, Inc. We hope that you will find the information or support you may be looking for in the following pages.
Hospice is a program designed primarily to serve the needs of people who are suffering from a life limiting illness and the family that cares for them. Hospice services are provided, primarily, in the patient's home, however, we are also able to provide services in most long term care facilities and personal care homes. We are also pleased that the Doug and Lucy Bowers Hospice House is now available to provide an additioanl option for those in need of end-of-life care in southern West Virginia.
Our emphasis is on comfort as we strive to provide the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of the dying and their loved ones in Fayette, Raleigh, Summers and Wyoming Counties.
Hospice of Southern WV, Inc. is non-profit organization and we do not discriminate on the basis of age, sex, religion, nationality, race, sexual orientation, diagnosis, disability or ability to pay.
We recognize dying as a normal part of the process of living, whether or not death results from a disease. We exist in the hope and belief that appropriate care can support persons in obtaining a degree of mental and spiritual preparation for death that is satisfactory to them and their family.
"You matter because you are you. You matter to the last moment of your life, and we will do all we can, not only to help you die in peace, but also to live until you die"
Dame Cicely Saunders
