Hospice of Southern WV exists to serve the needs of individuals suffering from life-limiting illnesses as well as to serve the individuals caring for them. Our emphasis is on comfort and quality of life as we provide the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of the terminally ill and their loved ones in Fayette, Raleigh, Summers and Wyoming Counties.
We recognize dying as a normal part of the process of living, and yet our focus is on life. For as long as there is life, our compassionate staff and volunteers alleviate the physical and mental burden of care, allowing individuals to make the spiritual, emotional, social and familial preparations that are unique to everyone.
Hospice services are provided primarily in patient homes, but may also continue in most long-term care facilities and personal care homes. The Doug and Lucy Bowers Hospice House is an additional option for those in need of end-of-life care in southern West Virginia.
Hospice of Southern WV, Inc. is a non-profit organization and we do not discriminate on the basis of age, sex, religion, nationality, race, sexual orientation, diagnosis, disability or ability to pay.
As a non-profit organization, Hospice of Southern WV depends upon the generosity of the community for donations and volunteers to continue its services.
"You matter because you are you. You matter to the last moment of your life, and we will do all we can, not only to help you die in peace, but also to live until you die"
